Sun, sand, sea, and a big dose of hospitality! We’re Bill and Sue Sinclair, the husband-and-wife team behind The Reef Beachfront Apartments, and we’re delighted to welcome you to our slice of coastal paradise.

Our story began in rural Waiuku. After boarding school days in Auckland, raising our two daughters, Katie and Greer, and years spent in corporate roles navigating city traffic, we realised something was missing — more fun, more sun, and more balance.

Family beach holidays and overseas travel eventually led us to The Reef in Mount Maunganui — a place where relaxation, laughter, and seaside living come naturally. It felt like the perfect place to create something special and share it with others.

Here at The Reef, our mission is simple: to make every guest feel relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely welcome — like part of our extended seaside family. Whether you’re visiting for adventure or tranquillity, a family holiday, a group stay, or a business trip, we’re here to help you create memorable beachfront moments.
